Plato&Rsquo;S Cave Image In Anthropos By E. E. Cummings

Sztuka „Anthropos: The Future of Art was” Cummingsa została opublikowana w roku 1930. Jednakże wystawiono ją po raz pierwszy dopiero po 40 latach od daty pierwszej publikacji. Do dziś sztuka pozostaje nieznana szerokiej publiczności. Książka „Plato’s cave image in Anthropos by E. E. Cummings” Jarosława M. Spychały jest więc pierwszą i jedyną publikacją poświęconą tej sztuce. Celem niniejszej publikacji jest przedstawienie i omówienie filozoficznych aspektów sztuki Edwarda Estlina Cummingsa „Anthropos: Przyszłość sztuki”, w szczególności motywów związanych z obrazem jaskini Platona (Republika, 514 A-517 C). Cummings’ play “Anthropos: The Future of Art” was published in 1930. However, it was not staged for the first time until 40 years after its initial publication. To this day, the play remains unknown to the general public. Spychała’s book “Plato's cave image in Anthropos by E. E. Cummings” is therefore today the first and only publication devoted to this art. The aim of this booklet is to present and discuss the philosophical aspects of Edward Estlin Cummings’ play “Anthropos: The Future of Art”, in particular the motifs related to Plato’s cave image (Republic, 514 A –517 C).
